The kob antelope is a floodplain inhabitant which looks rather like a stocky impala. Other members of the Kob antelope family include the waterbuck, puku and lechwe.
Kob Trophy Minimums
Technically there a 3 species of kob antelope but as of 2003 SCI differentiates between and carries records for the Central African or Buffon kob from CAR and northern Cameroon and the western kob from southern Cameroon, Benin and Burkina Faso. The kob is scientifically the same animal, Kobus kob kob. SCI says this is because of differences in horn size between specimens from Central Africa and West Africa.
